There is something so very captivating about Gina and Blaise and their country club wedding in Phoenix—perhaps it’s their laid back style, perhaps it’s the expertly designed decor? Either way, we absolutely love this wedding and we know you will too!
The Proposal: Blaise proposed to me in front of my entire family on top of Table Mountain in Cape Town, South Africa (where my family is from). I soon found out that I was the only one who wasn’t in on the proposal, and I was swept off my feet! That day my mom gave me a stack of bridal and wedding magazines so we could begin the planning. My mom and I had been dreaming of my wedding day since I was a little girl–and now we could finally plan the real thing!
What was most important to you as you planned your wedding? When Blaise and I were asked by our wedding planner what we wanted on our wedding day, we both agreed that the most important thing is that everyone have the most fun time at our wedding. We are both pretty simple people; we didn’t want extra “stuff.” We didn’t want a photo booth or games and activities. We just wanted everyone to be present with us in a beautiful setting and to share in our happiness.
Country Club Wedding in Phoenix Ceremony: The wedding was originally planned to be outdoors but the weather had other plans. Luckily, the couple was working with Victoria Canada of Victoria Canada Weddings + Events who swept in with “plan B”, located a clear top tent at the last minute, and made the ceremony even more amazing than the couple dreamed it could be!
Gina recalls: Our amazing wedding planner, Victoria Canada, told us not to worry and found the most beautiful tent for our outdoor ceremony just days before the wedding. It ended up being even more beautiful and magical than we could have ever imagined–the lights strung across the tent made it feel like we were getting married under the stars.
From the planner: Gina wanted her floral to be bold but romantic; the result was floral that felt lush and overflowing, a bit wild but still elegant.
The clear top tent was strung with lights which made the atmosphere for the ceremony quite magical!
Looking back, what is your favorite moment of the day? Our favorite moment of the wedding day was being surrounded by all of our amazing family and friends and dancing and celebrating with everyone. We felt so much love and support the entire day.
Country Club Wedding in Phoenix Reception: Guests proceeded into the ballroom for dinner and revelry amidst a sophisticated and lush garden setting; tables were dressed with deep jade linens, light and airy drape to soften the overall effect of the room, glowing candlelight, rustic centerpieces, botanic inspired chandeliers and shimmering gold detailing.
One thing that caught our attention about this reception is how there are so many layers of beautiful decor—it all comes together to create a masterfully designed reception that fits the personality of the couple to a “t”.
This country club wedding in Phoenix is just the dreamiest—just imagine walking into this room?!
Sweetness: Blaise and I literally smiled so much our cheeks hurt. We are so grateful to everyone who made the day come together so flawlessly. Our amazing parents provided so much love and support, and our incredible team of vendors and Victoria Canada Weddings and Events made our dream a reality.
The four-tier “half dressed” wedding cake was also topped with the perfectly sophisticated and slightly wild flowers!
Gina and Blaise, congratulations and thank you for sharing your country club wedding in Phoenix with us!
